Still
in Iowa City and today was filled with errands running and laundry
and flight booking. Tim from Minibar is all set to fly to Portland
to meet me. I'm leaving the tour tomorrow before the gig in Minneapolis,
MN in order to fly to Portland. Saturday will be the first day of
our adventure cross country in the RV....won't be able to go online
since we have to drive 14 hours a day to get to Chicago in time. Glenn
played with his technical computer stuff while Zan and I went into
town for dinner. We picked up a copy of the Iowa City Gazette to check
out the Glenn article (very positive) and then we went to the gig.
Gabe's was less than packed.
The
set list:

Take Me I'm Yours (at this point everyone followed Glenn outside
where he supposedly sang I've Returned,

Slap and Tickle and another one. I was inside with Steve Poltz having
a beer and guarding the merchandise)
-
Touching Me, Touching You
-
No Place Like Home
-
Some Fantastic Place
-
I Won't See You
-
You Were Always On My Mind

perfect acapella.)

-
From A Whisper to a Scream - with a confused but heartfelt Steve Poltz
Tempted

You Iowa! Good Night!
I'm
leaving the tour tomorrow and bummed that tonight will be my last
night on the road. I'll catch up with Zan and Glenn in Chicago and
Dayton, but I won't be traveling with them on the tour. sniff sniff
Got back to the hotel and I wrote this diary while Zan was on her
computer doing some work. We both are rather groovy typists while
Tilbrook has gone to the "hunt and peck" school of keying.
As Zan and I were typing away, we suddenly discovered Glenn typing
fast and furious....I immediately asked, "What are you doing
Glenn?" to which he replied sheepishly and left out, "I'm
making tippity tappy noises." So he wasn't typing anything at
all....just IMITATING the cool, fast typists in the room. sheesh.
Glenn
and Steve Poltz are playing a game of coming up with a song title
every night and then each going off and writing a song for the title.
I am excited to help Glenn participate in tomorrow's song contest.
Sadly, I cannot give the title as it is slightly on the blue side.
If I shared, I would have to kill you. Flying to Portland tomorrow
to rejoin the Cruisemaster! Goodbye to Glenn and Suzanne and hello
to the cold, hard, lonesome highway.
