Hooty Hoot
Glennmovie.com folks!
Hope you all are having a great
summer. Just wanted to let all of you know of the new fabulous
addition to the glennmovie.com website:
the Flyers page! As completion of the
movie is painfully near (and yet at times so far away), the need to
spread the glennmovie love is ever
present. Rockers like Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann and even the man
himself (that's GT, not Jesus) might be coming to a venue near you!
For dates on all your faves, go to
www.pollstar.com. We here at
glennmovie.com thought it would be a fab idea if the cool peeps
out there could help spread the love with the very flyers that I've
lovingly passed out for the past two years! Also, there is plenty of
room at the top and bottom of some of the flyers for you to scribble
in an upcoming Glenn date and whilst attending an Elvis gig or Aimee
gig, pass them out to friends and passersby! Since Glenn is seemingly
adrift in the sea of rock without a field staff or huge promotional
team to cling to, why not be the lighthouse for Glenn fans and promote
two birds with one stone?
Print out the flyers page, write in
Glenn's upcoming local appearance in your hood, make many copies and
serve! Leave them at local record stores while your browsing for the
new Jayhawks record! Drop them at the local coffee house while you're
in line for that Sunday afternoon espresso! Hell, drop them at the
club where Glenn is playing! It's free advertising for the club! Post
them on telephone poles when no one is looking! Cheekily slip them
into the Squeeze section at the Virgin Megastore! The possibilities
are endless! Oh, and by the way, while you're at the record store,
please pick up an EXCELLENT new album by my friends
MiniBar. Their
latest release is "Fly Below the Radar" and it's fantastic.
Pete Yorn loves them. The Wallflowers love them. Glenn loves them. And
you should to. Looking for the perfect summer soundtrack? Enjoy
heartbreakingly beautiful harmonies, clever and thoughtful lyrics and
damn good musicianship? Check out
MiniBar. You can go to their
site www.minibarfans.com to
order their CD and to learn more about the manly men behind the music!
I'll eat my hat if you don't dig them.
As for the movie, well, the script is
written, an editor has hopped aboard the
Glennmovie ship and we're slowly but surely setting sail! I don't
want to jinx it but I'm optimistic with the progress made thus far and
am anxiously awaiting the first edited bits. Sadly, we missed the
London Film Festival deadline but am still praying that we'll make the
late Sundance Film Festival deadline at the end of September. I have
gotten a job (rather un-handy when beginning to edit!) in order to
save the pennies for Mr. Editor's salary and must admit that it's good
to be earning again. It's nice and dare I say, enjoyable to focus my
powers of good toward something other than the documentary for the
time being, although the day gig is ultimately FOR the documentary in
the end. So, forgive me glennmovie.com
listers while I go underground for a spell. I'm working for the man
and working for the movie and will soon resurface with (hopefully)
tales of creative fulfillment and tan lines. My friend Johnni came
over to LA from London recently and very kindly presented me with a
bottle of Pimms. So I'll pour a glass and toast to all of you for your
continued support and hope that you all have a lovely summer!
Here's looking up your address!
Cheers!
Amyx
