Greetings!
If Neil Finn can have four seasons in
one day, I surely can have two diary entries in one month, can't I? I
just wanted to let you know the latest in
glennmovie land!
We've made some changes to the site!
We have a brand new Screenings page
where you can find out where and when the movie will be playing! Is it
a city near you? Check it out and see! And if you live far away, what
a great excuse to come to LA for a vacation!
We also have two brand spanking new
clips from the freshly completed movie up on our
trailers page. Watch and enjoy! If
you're a fan, you might even be in one of the clips!
I'd like to thank my web guru Jacob
Ellis for all of his hard work in keeping the
glennmovie website running smoothly and up to date. He's working
for free out of the love and I wanted to give him the props he
deserves! Also, Jeff Rubin edited the flick and it's his handy-work
you'll see on the trailers!
The big news is of course, the
screening. It is going to take place
here in Hollywood on May 11th at a cool place called
CineSpace. It seems there are
several 'dinner and a movie' joints opening up all over the country
and this one is pretty darn trendy. They were generous enough to
screen my movie for free on the condition that I cover the bar
expenses. Cine Space holds 150 people for the screening, so I pretty
much have to get at least 100 people in for the screening and have
them buy at least one drink in order to meet that bar minimum. If I
don't meet the minimum, I have to pay for the difference out of my own
pocket, so needless to say, I want everyone to drink heavily!
Just think how well my movie will go over through beer goggles. I made
the joke that I'd be happy with just 50 people coming.... if they were
all British or Irish. That way, I would DEFINITELY make the bar
minimum! (I kid because I love!) I'm pulling out all the stops with
this screening. I'm sending out press releases to newspapers,
magazines, and TV stations. I'm hoping to give away tickets to the
screenings on local radio stations. I'm printing out
flyers and canvassing LA and surrounding
areas! I'm posting on every website imaginable! I want to spread the
glennmovie love and I won't stop until I
get 150 people in there and clapping! I'm also trying desperately to
get bigwigs from TV networks in there so the movie can be sold and
seen by you, the lovely and damn fine good looking folks on my mailing
list! I'm trying to get DVD Distributors to turn up because you never
know, the DVD release of the doc could be sooner than you think! It's
also great publicity for Glenn, since his second album is due out in
America shortly after the screening! In fact, I'm hoping to get my
grubby hands on a copy of the album so I can play it before and after
the screening. I know that a lot of you are based in the UK and other
foreign lands, but if you have any pals in LA, please tell them to
come on down! If it goes well, I might have another one soon! Hope to
see some of you there! I'm trying to sort out an East Coast screening
in NY soon, so stay tuned!
Positively giddy at the thought of
hearing GT's new solo album. I've heard some of the rough mixes and
they were pretty great and I recently heard the final mixed version of
the single "Untouchable". I don't think I'm telling tales out
of school by saying that I think it's the best song Glenn's done solo.
Even better than my favorite song of all time "By the Light of the
Cash Machine". The song is written with
Chris Braide and it's everything a Glenn song should be: Damn
catchy, great lyrics, groovy music and lovely Glenn on Glenn harmonies
that I dig so much! I've been singing it all week and can't wait until
it is unleashed on the public. Glenn played "Untouchable" for
me on the RV last year in its bare bones form and I loved it even
then. Just goes to show you that a good song is a good song no matter
what. Love it!
Speaking of good songs, I recently
saw Rufus Wainwright in
concert at UCLA. Elton John
made a special appearance and Rufus was positively transcendent. I
also was able to catch
John Wesley Harding play at a cool club called Largo. He has free
MP3 downloads on his site John Wesley Harding music! There is a timely
little folk ditty that the crowd went crazy for that you might get a
kick out of listening to: "Ace in the Spiderhole Rag". Click
and laugh and enjoy.... and be scared. The song might actually come
true!
Also wanted to remind the lucky UK
folks about Glenn's epic UK tour which is in progress as we speak!
Check out www.glenntilbrook.com
for tour dates and tell him hello! Thanks again for all of your
support and we'll definitely keep you up to date with what's happening
with the movie.
Rock On,
Amy
