Hello from somewhere in the
Midwest!
I just wanted to tell you the latest
most fabulous news! Glenn Tilbrook: One for the Road is
going to make its UK premiere at London's
Raindance Film Festival in
October! The Raindance Film Festival is a very prestigious festival
and I'm over the moon that we got in, if not
gobsmacked!
The festival takes place October 1-10th in London, England. (the 10th
is my birthday, so that would be lovely if it was screened then! But
I'm happy with any time they pick!) The film has not been assigned a
specific date or time yet but stay tuned to
www.glennmovie.com or go to the
Raindance site
for more details to come!
I'm going to come over in late
September to try and do as much press as possible and it would be
lovely to meet any of you on the list if you come down to see the
flick! I'm thinking of possibly trying to organize a drinks get
together before the screening at a local pub. The
glennmovie.com mailing listers could wear
a red rose or something. This could simply be my optimistic thinking
as I will probably need a quiet, padded cell somewhere close by for my
first London screening, but it's a fun idea to think about. There's
also the possibility of no one turning up but me, which is slightly
disconcerting, but I'm willing to take the chance if you are! Hey, it
won't be the first time Amy no mates ends up on her own at a pub!
I need the help of UK folk to help
spread the love. Do you know of any press people? Local newspapers,
music magazines, fanzines, radio (I used to guest on
London Live quite a bit so I'm radio friendly!), television,
ANYTHING! If you have any contacts, please let them know about the
movie's UK premiere! I want to spread the
glennmovie love! Do you have any UK print shop contacts? Movie
posters need to be printed as well as flyers
in promoting the flick. Do you have any post production house
contacts? Screener copies of the movie need to be sent to the press
and I can't afford to make PAL
copies so am on the lookout for Glenn friendly folk who might help!
Have any celeb friends who dig Glenn? Bring them along! Since I lived
in London for several years, I have many friends I can stay with but
since I'm coming over early for press, etc.. I will have to stay
longer. And as my flat mate Suzanna's Grandma Shirley said,
"Houseguests are like fish. After a few days they start to smell." So
I don't want to impose on my friends for that long. Do you have any
hotel contacts that might be able to help with accommodation? (I don't
need anything fancy... but I don't really want to stay any place where
they charge by the hour if you get my meaning.)
Any advice, help or promotion ideas
or words of encouragement are welcome! I'm so excited to finally bring
the movie to the UK and I hope that all of you come down to London
Town to see it! I would love to meet all of you.
This is really a dream come true for
me and I just hope that the Brits will love the movie as much as the
yanks have taken to it. But you'll have to get used to the subtitles!
Yes, I had to subtitle Glenn throughout the movie for non-Brits to
understand. Pesky, I know. But you get used to it. Cheers Then!
And Hello London!
Amy
