Hooty Hoot from the land where
palm trees sway!
We’ve got some big time news here in
glennmovie land. As you may know already,
Glenn Tilbrook: One For the Road is playing London’s
Raindance Film Festival. If
that wasn’t glennlicious enough,
the man himself
will be performing a wee acoustic set and participating in a Q and
A sesh after the screening! Zip on over to the screenings page for
more details! Raindance have
informed me that they have given GT: OFTR their biggest
theatre that seats 155 people! Tickets can be booked online soon so
keep checking the Raindance
site and the UGC Cinema
site for more details. Book in advance!!! I almost fell off my
computer chair upon hearing how big the theatre is, but I really think
that this screening will be an excellent chance to spread the glenn
love to not only die hard Glenn fans, but to an audience that may have
not been aware of what Glenn’s been up to lately!
My days have been spent contacting UK
press people. Newspapers, TV, every radio show imaginable as well as
contacting commissioning editors for British TV with the hopes that
they might want to buy the movie and air it on their network. How
perfect would the movie be for Xmas viewing in the UK? I always
enjoyed the holiday TV schedules over Xmas when I lived in London. And
I’m not ashamed to say that every year I LOVED watching Noel Edmund’s
Christmas shows - I mean, did you see the one where he hired the
Hollies to play in that guy’s backyard??? You’re dead inside if you
didn’t shed a tear over that episode. Feel free to mock me I don’t
care.
I will let you guys know if there’s
going to be any press on the flick and if any of you come across any
articles or anything in the UK, please pass them along since I’m
literally zipping in and zipping out for the festival. I’m going to be
appearing on BBC Radio 6 on
Saturday, October 2nd on the
Liz
Kershaw show at 12:30pm. So please tune in!
I really hope to see some of you at
the screening. Please feel free to come up and say hello. I’m going to
take my digital camera and I’ll post a diary entry shortly after the
screening and let you know how it all goes. I’m very excited to see my
movie in a proper movie theatre, I’m eager (and slightly petrified) to
learn how a UK audience reacts to my movie with subtitles and I am
anxious over trying to get as much publicity as possible for the
flick. To say that this screening is a huge event for me and all who
helped make the movie is an understatement! To add to all of this, the
guy who I made the movie about will be there in person to support the
movie and to play a wee set as well as fielding questions from the
audience! It’s a bit overwhelming but very, very exciting, and I can
think of no better way to celebrate my birthday early!
Cheers to all of you
for helping through the past three years.
Amy
